I know, Blog, I’ve been neglecting you.
The truth is, I’ve been hella busy. I took a new job while still keeping the existing one. I am now an instructor at the Alberta College of Art and Design, teaching Intro to Web Design, while still being Senior Designer at Post+Beam, and also being the volunteer Events Coordinator for the GDC (Graphic Designers of Canada). I don’t mean to brag, but I’m a pretty busy freaking guy. Did I also mention I try to attend figure drawing class weekly, and am taking a correspondence inking class from the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning? Yeah, maybe my eyes are bigger than my stomach.
Anyways, I did these digital paintings a little while ago as I was experimenting with Kyle T Webster’s Photoshop brushes. A nude and a portrait. Funny enough, I’ve been frustrated that my portraits end up looking like me and yet this portrait is nearly looking into a mirror. If you took away the red in the beard this would pretty well be me. Oh well.
Let me know what you think!
