Sorry for the lack of posting, folks.  Its been a crazy month or two.  Some of you knew about my house being overcome with mold after a flood, and there’s also been a lot of school work and other responsibilities, but here I am again, hopefully sharing some more artwork, writing, biased opinions, and so forth.

We’ve recently had our Winter Show and Sale at the Alberta College of Art and Design, the first one that I have participated in.  I’m glad I took part in this round, as this is my last year and I would have regretted not trying it out at least once or twice (there’s another one next semester if anyone is interested in buying any of my work).  While digging through the various folders and piles of paintings and illustrations, wondering if there was anything worth selling, I found more than a few pieces that I had long since forgotten about, pieces that date way back to 2003.  I’ll scan or document a few of the better ones over the next few posts for your viewing pleasure, starting with this painting of my friend Kyle.

Kyle is one of my best friends, currently one of my roommates this year, and also one of the most talented illustrators I can personally claim to know.  I did this painting in acrylic on masonite, way back in my 2nd year of my illustration program.  Ahh, the early years, when I knew shit about fuck (pardon me).  I like this painting, however, because I think it shows a striking resemblance to the man, as well as representing a few different key points (to me anyways) of my artistic history and development.
